STATEMENT by Culinary Union Secretary-Treasurer Ted Pappageorge regarding an endorsement in the upcoming NVDEMS elections:

The Culinary Union, which has never before endorsed in the Nevada State Democratic Party (NVDEMS) elections, is issuing a rare endorsement in the upcoming NVDEMS elections for the Democratic Unity Slate:

*Daniele Monroe-Moreno, Chair

*Daniel Corona, First Vice Chair

*Francisco Morales, Second Vice Chair

*Leilani Hinyard, Treasurer

*Travis Brock, Secretary

The Nevada Democrats are meeting Saturday, March 4, 2023 to elect their new leadership and the Culinary Union recommends that Central Committee Members vote to elect candidates who will unify the party, Democrats, and who will work in coalition with progressive partners to deliver for working families. Assemblywoman Daniele Monroe-Moreno is a strong leader who will lead the NVDEMS with dedication and a clear vision.

Nevada is an important battleground state and in 2024, Nevadans will be voting early while the first state in the nation (South Carolina) holds their presidential primary. Electing candidates who will continue to champion issues important to workers is a priority next year and the best path forward is to unify the party to win for our communities.
