On February 26, 2025, the American Dream and Promise Act of 2025 was re-introduced in Congress. It has bipartisan support from both Democrats and Republicans in the House.
The Dream and Promise Act would provide a pathway to citizenship to DREAMers, undocumented immigrants who were brought to the United States as children. It would also include recipients of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) and Deferred Enforced Departure (DED) beneficiaries.
The bipartisan American Dream and Promise Act of 2025 would:
- Protect and grant eligible DREAMers conditional permanent residence for ten years and cancel removal proceedings.
- Provide a pathway to citizenship for eligible DREAMers by granting full Lawful Permanent Resident (LPR) status.
- Provide individuals with Temporary Protected Status (TPS) or Deferred Enforcement Departure (DED) with LPR status.
- Protect DREAMers and individuals with TPS or DED during their application for relief under the American Dream and Promise Act.
- Provide eligible DREAMers with access to federal financial aid.
- Allow eligible DREAMers located abroad to apply for relief.
- Prevent penalizing states that grant in-state tuition to undocumented students based on residency.
Over 200 members of Congress have signed on to support this critical legislation, along with our Nevada Congressional representatives Dina Titus and Steven Horsford.
DREAMers have spent nearly their entire lives here in the United States. They are our co-workers in our hotels and casinos, many have attended school and earned degrees, and contributed billions to our economy, all while making this country their home.
TPS holders have been living and working in the United States for decades, they are Culinary Union members, have raised their families here, pay taxes, and contribute significantly to our communities and our state and nation’s economy.
Congress must protect working families and pass the DREAM and PROMISE Act today!
El 26 de febrero de 2025, el American Dream and Promise Act de 2025 se reintrodujo en el Congreso. Cuenta con el apoyo bipartidista de ambos los demócratas y republicanos en la Cámara.
El Dream and Promise Act brindaría una vía a la ciudadanía para los DREAMers, inmigrantes indocumentados que fueron traídos a los Estados Unidos en su infancia. También incluiría a los beneficiarios del Estatus de Protección Temporal (TPS, por sus siglas en inglés) y de la Salida Forzada Diferida (DED, por sus siglas en inglés).
El American Dream and Promise Act de 2025 bipartidista:
- Protegería y otorgaría a los DREAMers elegibles la residencia permanente condicional por diez años y cancelaría los procedimientos de remoción.
- Brindaría una vía a la ciudadanía para los DREAMers elegibles al otorgarles el estatus de Residente Permanente Legal (LPR, por sus siglas en inglés) completo.
- Proporcionaría estatus LPR a los individuos con Estatus de Protección Temporal (TPS) o Salida Forzada Diferida (DED).
- Protegería a los DREAMers y a los individuos con TPS o DED durante su solicitud de asistencia bajo el American Dream and Promise Act.
- Brindaría a los DREAMers elegibles acceso a ayuda financiera federal.
- Permitiría que los DREAMers elegibles que se encuentran en el extranjero soliciten asistencia.
- Prevendría penalizar a los estados que otorgan matrícula estatal a estudiantes indocumentados basándose en su residencia.
