Culinary Union launches “Casino Steak Report” with USDA findings at Meats by Linz, other beef companies
Las Vegas, NV – The Culinary Union has launched a new website with select USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service sample data at Meats by Linz and noncompliance reports at Creekstone Farms and Nebraska Beef: CasinoSteakReport.org
From Shiga Toxin at Meat by Linz (USDA Sampling Data, 6.9.21) to the observation of “a lot of cripples” at Nebraska Beef (USDA Finalized Memorandum of Interview, 4.1.21), the Culinary Union’s new website makes accessible over forty government findings and provides ways for casino companies to reach out to steak companies.
“Nevada casino steakhouses are iconic establishments,” said Bethany Khan, spokeswoman for the Culinary Union. “Companies should welcome the transparency we are providing with this website and casinos should hold steak companies accountable.”
Casino companies should know that the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced last December that Nebraska Beef Ltd. was sentenced in federal court in Omaha for false representation relating to agricultural grading records; that according to sampling data from the USDA, on June 9th, 2021, ground beef at the Meat By Linz facility in Calumet City, IL tested positive for Shiga toxin (stx); and that the USDA reported maggots, fecal matter, and E. coli at Creekstone Farms in noncompliance reports and sampling data between January 2021 and July 2022.
