With the strike in its second week, the Culinary Workers Union is hoping to pressure Virgin Hotels Las Vegas to agree to a new five-year contract with higher pay and better benefits for workers. The resort is located about a mile east of the Las Vegas Strip and has more than 1,500 rooms and suites. The property is owned by several investment groups, including JC Hospitality and LiUNA Pension Fund of Central and Eastern Canada.
