Culinary Union leader Ted Pappageorge attributed the decline to what he called a "Trump slump," citing hostile overseas sentiments and immigration policies affecting international tourism, particularly from Canada. "What the fear was is that this riling up the economy, this idea of mass deportations, mass terrorists, would bring on a slowdown," he said.
