Culinary Union workers feeling financial strain as strike at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas continues into 3rd week

Jovani Guerrero Lopez is one of hundreds of workers striking out in front of the property located on Harmon Avenue and Paradise Road. He worked in the kitchen at the hotel and voted for the strike. Now he’s making less than what he usually makes when working.

“$500 weekly is not a tremendous amount but able to support you and get by, from talking to my family and working together we can support each other,” he explained. “We can’t just be neglected and forgotten. We’re going to stay here.”

Lopez said like his colleagues they are ready to wait it out and that the union has additional resources to help them out.
