Culinary Union incumbent challenged by ‘jack of all trades’ in Democratic Assembly primary

For 47 years, Hunt has been a Culinary Union member, shop steward and food server at the El Cortez Hotel and Casino.

Hunt won the AD17 seat in 2024. Backed by Culinary, she defeated a caucus-backed candidate in the Democratic primary, then went on to defeat Republican Robert Olson by a 29.4 point margin.

During her first term in the Assembly, Hunt sponsored Assembly Bill 220, which authorizes the Nevada Department of Human Services to establish a program to issue identification cards for Nevadans experiencing homelessness.

Hunt serves on the Assembly Education, Government Affairs, and Health and Human Services committees.
