WATCH IRS Commissioner get asked about our IRS Tip Allocation rate issue by Senator Cortez Masto
On March 2, 2022, our Democratic Senators Catherine Cortez Masto and Jacky Rosen sent a letter to the IRS Commissioner Charles Rettig urging him to consult with impacted hospitality workers, including the Culinary Union, to discuss what a fair tip allocation rate would be for tipped workers in Nevada. UPDATE: On April 7, 2022 during a Senate Finance Committee hearing, Senator Cortez Masto questioned the IRS Commissioner Charles Rettig, who was there to testify on agency operations and budget request. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto requested that the IRS Commissioner Charles Rettig reconsider the agency’s decision and encouraged him to sit down with affected hospitality workers, labor unions and employers to discuss a fair TIP Allocation rate. The Culinary Union will continue to advocate, alongside gaming/hospitality companies, and elected representatives, to ensure hospitality workers have a fair TIP Allocation rate. -- El 2 de marzo de 2022, nuestras senadoras demócratas Catherine Cortez Masto y Jacky Rosen enviaron una carta al Comisionado del IRS, Charles Rettig, instándolo a realizar una consulta con los trabajadores hoteleros afectados, incluída la Unión Culinaria, para discutir cuál sería una tasa justa de asignación de propinas para los trabajadores que reciben propinas en Nevada.
