Culinary Union panel: Apollo and TPG’s history in Las Vegas with authors of “Caesars Palace Coup”
Culinary Union to host online panel on Apollo and TPG’s history in Las Vegas with authors of “Caesars Palace Coup” - Las Vegas, NV – The Culinary Union will host an online panel to explore the lessons of private equity ownership and control of Nevada casino resorts on June 18, 2021. The new book Caesars Palace Coup tells in captivating detail the financial and legal drama of Apollo and TPG’s leveraged buyout of Caesars Entertainment, which ended to a major bankruptcy reorganization. The book’s authors, veteran financial journalists Max Frumes and Sujeet Indap, will moderate an in-depth discussion on June 18 to add important local perspectives to the story told in their book. While the best-selling Caesars Palace Coup focuses on the twists and turns in the battle between billionaires inside and outside of the bankruptcy courtroom, our panelists will shed light on the leveraged buyout and bankruptcy’s impact on the Las Vegas community and the Nevada gaming industry. As private equity firms such as Apollo continue to show interest in Las Vegas casinos, this timely event will be of interest to stakeholders (including workers), investors, regulators, elected leaders, and gaming industry observers and analysts. WHO: *Sujeet Indap is the U.S. editor of the Lex Column at the Financial Times and has written extensively on the intersection of corporate finance and corporate law. *Max Frumes leads coverage of corporate debt and restructuring at Fitch Solutions, after having founded a leading publication on corporate bankruptcy. *Nancy B.
