STATEMENT by Culinary Union President Diana Valles regarding Red Rock Casino/NLRB case at D.C. Circuit:

Culinary Union is closely watching as the federal government continues making its case against Red Rock Casino at the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals and against Station Casinos and several of its properties in the ongoing trial before an administrative law judge of the National Labor Relations Board for their blatant anti-union and anti-worker behavior as part of one of the government’s largest labor law enforcement actions in American history

Workers are standing up to the company and testifying in the current trial about how the company was union-busting and undermining their right to organize. Culinary Union will continue to support workers until they receive justice.

We are confident that the D.C. Circuit will uphold the NLRB’s ruling that Red Rock Casino committed egregious violations of the law and that the NLRB will find in the current trial that Station Casinos did so again on an even larger scale.

It is outrageous that a major gaming company continues to operate with impunity in Nevada’s gaming industry, while the Gaming Control Board remains silent on one of its licensees.

The federal government is doing what state regulators refuse to: Holding Station Casinos accountable for its union-busting and illegal actions.

The Culinary Union is committed to advocating for workers’ rights at every level, whether before the NLRB, in a courtroom, in a casino employee dining room, on the public sidewalk, or anywhere the rights of working people are under attack.
