STATEMENT by Culinary Union Secretary-Treasurer Ted Pappageorge regarding the humanitarian crisis in Gaza:

As the largest organization of workers in Nevada, the Culinary Union has an 89-year history of standing up for those facing oppression and injustice.

We are actively engaging with Culinary Union members and our international union, UNITE HERE, in a conversation about the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and its root causes. Following the UNITE HERE statement released yesterday, we reaffirm our commitment to a process of deep engagement to build solidarity and unity, and we call for immediate action towards a just and lasting solution to ensure the freeing of hostages and freedom for Palestinians.

Today, the Culinary Union is calling for ceasefire in Palestine, democracy in the region, and will continue the dialogue with workers and their families.
