Culinary Union to give public comments at the Clackamas County Board of Commissioners
Las Vegas, NV - Culinary Union members to appear virtually to give public comments on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at 10:00am Pacific at the Clackamas County Board of Commissioners in Oregon.
WHO: Culinary Union representative
WHAT: Public comments at the Clackamas County Board of Commissioners
WHEN: Thursday, December 19th, 2024 at 10:00am Pacific
WHERE: BCC Hearing Room (2051 Kaen Road Room 409 Oregon City, OR) or online streaming. Meeting agenda and more information available here.
WHY:
Fengate Asset Management, a Canadian private equity firm, is part of the consortium that is developing the $313 million Clackamas County Courthouse. Fengate is also an owner of Virgin Las Vegas.
Culinary Union understands that there have been questions by the public and elected officials about the Fengate-led courthouse project about the lack of transparency about this public-private partnership. In Nevada, gaming regulators recently recommended a gaming license for the executives of Virgin Las Vegas without asking deep questions about the influence and impact the owners of the casino, including Fengate, would have on the casino operations. The lack of transparency is similarly concerning.
Culinary Union has been researching Fengate Asset Management and its investment track record and business practices and looks forward to sharing due diligence information about this Canadian private equity firm with Clackamas County Board of Commissioners.
