Reps. Steven Horsford and Susie Lee, Nevada Democrats, each threw their support behind the House bill, with Horsford already listed as a co-sponsor already and Lee saying she is cosponsoring the bill.
Lee said Nevada has the highest concentration of tipped workers in the nation, and said federal taxes on those tips hit the state’s workers especially hard.
“We need to be doing everything we can to keep more dollars in Nevadans’ pockets. No one should lose out on the tips they earned, especially while big corporations make record profits,” Lee said. “This bipartisan legislation will bring immediate relief to many Nevadans and must be part of a broader effort to raise wages while protecting workers from corporate greed.”
