“No step back on labor rights: Latina workers in Las Vegas ahead of the elections.” / Ni un paso atrás a derechos laborales: trabajadoras latinas en Las Vegas de cara a las elecciones

In 1994, Barbara Buckley, who worked cleaning rooms at the former MGM casino, was elected to the Nevada Assembly; Maggie Carlton, a waitress at the Treasure Island Casino, was elected to District 2 of the Senate in 1998; during 2018, waitress Jacky Rosen from the Caesars Palace Casino won a seat in the United States Senate, and Bea Duran, a worker at the Four Queens casino, was elected to the District 11 Assembly. All of them belonged to the union.
