Locally, the Culinary Union is known today as one of the most important forces in Las Vegas politics and society. Its leadership has had powerful, and generally positive, impacts on the lives of Las Vegans across a wide variety of professions, helping to create safer, more sustainable and more fair labor conditions across Southern Nevada.
The changes created by the Culinary Union and other organized labor groups were and still are, essential to protecting workers’ legal rights and even their lives.
