Economy, local elections were focus of former VP Kamala Harris' Las Vegas visit

She started at the Culinary Union, speaking with the Valley's hospitality workers.

"That's what you all do every day here in Nevada, speaking always for workers and the dignity and the value and the importance to everyone," said Harris to the union members.

For these employees, they say the economy is the number one issue they want addressed by a democratic nominee in the White House.

"Everything right now is so expensive, so hard. Like, like, all the you know, like, example coffee, gas right now, I just passed by. It's $5.49. It's very expensive," said hospitality worker Rhodora Berry.

Kimbley Walker, also a Culinary Union member, says the issue is especially important in Southern Nevada.

"Yes, definitely. Look at the housing market. There's some people who want to be a first time homeowner, you know," said Walker.
