On Saturday, the day the comedian was scheduled to take the stage at the hotel, the union hosted a BBQ on the picket line for its members and praised Hofstetter's move.
"When we get artists that are canceling their shows, that makes us feel great too because that lets us know that they are standing in solidarity with us, so that makes us feel really good inside," Karneisha Wilson, a housekeeper at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas and a Culinary Union member said.
Ted Pappageorge, the secretary-treasure for the Culinary Union said more people and organizations should follow suit.
